Whether your customer is a lobsterman, a pleasure yacht owner or a charter boat captain, you know that for each one of them choosing a boatyard was a major decision, and that as much homework as they may have done beforehand, it all came down to trust.
The same level of trust has to exist between you, the boatyard owner, and your engine supplier. That trust has been earned engine-by-engine, part-by-part, in an environment where even small mistakes can cause major disasters, and where people are not shy about telling their peers if they are not fully satisfied with a certain vendor.
In terms of size, our boatbuilding clients run the entire range, but their expectations are pretty similar. They want to have a complete inventory to choose from. They like to talk to people who speak their language. Parts availability is taken for granted. And they know that a CAT engine will have top-notch service and support wherever their customer might be taking their boat.
